The Process
The preliminary evaluation process is simple and inexpensive.
- Contact me. We’ll talk about what you’ve got – your ideas and your progress. My job is to learn what you want to say and the audience you’d like to reach.
- Together, we assess your experience and skills. Most people can write a book, but often they need to work on some of their skills.
- You send me any work you’ve done – an outline, a sample chapter, or even nothing. If you don’t have anything to send, I’ll suggest what you might write.
- I’ll take a look at your materials and we’ll talk again. After our talk, I’ll send you a simple written evaluation, with cautionary notes, suggestions about resources, and encouragement about the next steps to take. Then we’ll talk one more time.
The process is brief. You get results from me within as little as two days. I believe you’ll be better off for it. Most authors need an ally when a project starts. My job is to serve as that ally.
The Results
You will end up with increased confidence about your audience and your writing skills.
You will have a greater appreciation of the expectations of agents, publishers, and readers.
